Welcome to Tim's Politics and Media Page
Writing, political strategy, keeping up with my children, Ballroom dancing, playing pool (I once sunk in the 8 ball on the break), computers, lawyer jokes (PG or better, please!), photography, good food, seeing old friends, making new ones, hiking, rappelling, walking in the rain, and swimming. When all that is done, sleeping and sleeping in, especially on Saturdays. Hello! My name is Tim Rollins, and I want to thank you for dropping in on my web page. I am the proud father of three children, a boy at each end and a girl in the middle. I can assure you my youngest keeps me quite busy. I was asked once who my favorite Presidents were, and after giving it some thought, I narrowed it down to eight, in light of some things I learned about two of our former Presidents. They were: 1. Abraham Lincoln - Because he kept the country together. 2. Teddy Roosevelt - Because he didn't take flak from anybody and was a healing influence in the wake of President McKinley's assassination. 3. Thomas Jefferson - Because he knew the value of a good real estate deal when he saw one. 4. Andrew Jackson - Because he had plenty of attitude. 5. Harry Truman - Because he said "The Buck Stops Here", said whatever else he thought and still won election to a second term. 6. Jimmy Carter - Because of his performance in office, we learned what NOT to look for in a president. We were able to see what ineptitude that gutless micro-managing little pissant of a man really possessed. He had completely disgraced us on the world stage and made us the subject of abject humiliation worldwide. If there was ever a time I was ashamed to be an American, it was during the Carter era. We had planes that couldn't fly, tanks that couldn't run and enlisted men on food stamps. This man committed high treason against the United States, especially wehen he gave away United States sovereign property (the Panama Canal), thus allowing the Communist Chinese a foothold in the principal waterway of the Americas, thus jeopardizing our national security and vital strategic interests. For these high crimes, he is no better than Julius or Ethel Rosenberg. Accordingly, he should be tried in federal court and upon conviction, executed according to law. As a result of Carter's actions, we were able to - as a people - toss him out of office by an electoral margin of 489-49, and usher in America's greatest president as well as America's finest hours ever... 7. Ronald Reagan - the Great Communicator, because his commitment to America and her greatness, coupled with his refusal to back off on the Strategic Defense Initiative ("Star Wars") brought about an end to the Cold War and the crashing down of both the Soviet Union and the Iron Curtain of Eastern Europe. 8. George W. Bush - #43, our current Commander-in-Chief, the former Governor and Texecutor, this is a man who seems to be a mix between Andrew Jackson and Ronald Reagan. Far more conservative than his father (#41) who never really was a conservative to begin with, he took the bull by the horns after 9/11 and sent a message worldwide, that being: "We don't take sh-- from no one." Our timely and decisive handling of the Taliban in Afghanistan plus the deposing of Saddam Husssein has sent shock waves throughout the Middle East because an American president FINALLY has the balls to (a), make a promise; and (b), make good on that promise. What respect we lost on the world stage under William "B.J." Clinton, we have MORE THAN recovered under George W. Bush. As to those weenies who say he was only a "C" student at Yale, I have three things to say: (1) Don't say you never went to any parties yourself; (2), Keep in mind that a "C" from Yale is FAR better than an "A" at most other schools; and (3), Bush is the first MBA (Harvard, 1975) to become President, and to get your Masters from ANY school, you have to hold at least a "B" AVERAGE.
Being a man of many passions, politics is one I am into in a big way - so much so, I minored in Political Science in college. As one who is actively involved in the political process, I like to keep up on the latest in both the United States and Canada, as what happens in one place can be an indicator as to what might happen in the other. To that end, I read some of the leading newspapers, magazines and online publications. They include: I also like to keep up with lawmakers on both sides of the pond. They can be found at: Thank you for stopping in on my home page. Let me know what you think about my page. Send mail by clicking |
